Svartekunst - Black Magic - is a Porter Stout we brewed initially in summer 2011, to celebrate our Batch Number 100. Each year sees a new vintage, and the detailed recipe is adjusted each time, so that later tasting sessions can make some really interesting comparisons. As the label suggests, this is a highly potent and powerful beer. The bitterness, however, will fade in the cellar, and the vinous tones will amplify. Coffee, burnt notes, smoke and leather are the dominant flavours. Residual sweetness is heavy, while the hops are dry with a bitter finish. We believe this stout can improve for 20 years, hence the legend "Best After" rather than "Best Before".

Bottle. Dark, almost black. Aroma: roasted and caramel malt, prunes, port wine. Taste: caramel, red port wine, prunes, sweet, yeast, brandy.

From tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016 - Red session. Black color with beige head. Roasted malty aroma, chocolate, licorice, coffee, light alcohol, some fruity notes. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

On tap at CBC 2016. Pours black with light tan head. Aromas of oily coffee dry vanilla and roasted malts. Flavors of same with dry ash . Nice enough

On tap at CBC 2016 - day 2. Roasted malts, chocolate, cocoa, a bit of dark cherries. Chocolate bitter aftertaste, with a smooth mouthfeel.

Tap @CBC16. Black with tan head. Aroma has roast and dark chocolate, traces of coffee. Similar flavour, sweetish with bitter finish. Straightforward and nice.

Helt svart farge med tynt beige skum. Luktet av sjokolade og salt lakris. Fyldig og lite karbonert. Får litt portvinfølelse. Noe salt og bitter avslutning.
