On tap at the brewery. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is licorice, cracker, roast, cocoa. Slick body, cracker, cocoa, roast, chicory, boozy, light dry finish, very good.

Tap, at the brewery. 2013 RIS aged in nothing other than a keg, according to the chap behind the bar. It’s big, roasty, chewy and rich, with no hint of barrelled anything. Taste is unctuous sweet, with a rich, roast bitterness. Smooth and warm. Very easy to drink, even at 9.30 in the morning. Finishes sweet, roasty and rich. Lovely.
