This style is marked by very high hop bitterness and moderate alcohol content. A high hopping rate and the use of water with high mineral content results in a crisp, dry beer. Golden in color, this beer has a huge hop flavor and bitterness, utilizing cascade, nugget and columbus hops.

Taster at brewery. Pale golden, fine head, ring. Aroma brings light fruity notes. Taste has light citrusy notes and like the Gandalf, a healthy helping of dryness. Pale malts, bready

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 11/17/2017. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is a very nice IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, despite the fairly aggressive bitter/drying finish. Nice dank/vibrant hop complexity; solid pale malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. Nice classic tasting hop profile. A very enjoyable offering.
