Draft at waterfront. I didn’t find it that awful - a watered down Duvel it was but is that necessarily a bad thing?

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is pale malt, mildly spicy yeast, grassy hops, with a touch of floral hops. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Not bad at all, some yeast was preserved and I like the grassy hoppy notes. Very drinkable.

Bottle 0,33ltr: The weaker, but only in alcohol, the hazy golden and big foamt head, a bit lesser spices and little more citric taste.

Sampled on draft this beer pours a bright yellow with a huge soapy white head that faded and left decent lacing. The aroma was dryish and bready with a faint undertone of artificial grape. The flavor was dry and chalky with citric and grassy undertones. Medium finish and body. An insult to the name of Duvel.

1 pint can. Pours a clear gold with light head. Aromas of dull citrus, coriander, light banana, and grain. Flavors of lemon wax, light banana, light corriander and sharp wheaty malts. Definitely sharper than the regular Duvel. Nice and crisp.

*Rating overgezet 2016* Fles thuis geprobeerd. Het is een helder goudgeel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een fruitige wat zoete geur. De smaak is gistachtig, kruidig en wat bitter in de afdronk.

Tap at Jane Doe Östersund. Really wasn't so sure about this one. Makes sense it wasn't the same as original. It felt all too lagery and no hop.

Verjaardagscadeau van mijn zoon, gekocht in de Bierhalle te Merelbeke op 28-08-2020. Thuis geproefd op 17-10-2020.
Duvel (groen) werd voor het eerst gebrouwen in de jaren 60 als bier voor de Gentse Feesten. Het is een normale Duvel die niet hergist is in de fles, hierdoor kreeg men een lager alcoholgehalte en een volledig andere smaakbeleving.
Duvel (groen) is een geel kleurig en helder bier dat een normale hoeveelheid wit schuim produceert in een dik-wollige vorm, dit blijft op een normale manier aan het glas kleven maar zakt daarna in elkaar tot er nog een fijn laagje van enkele mm overblijft. Je ziet een normale CO2 verzadiging met fijne belletjes.
HET AROMA:
Zoetig, citrus, pompelmoes, mout, wat floraal.
DE SMAAK:
Een klein zuurtje, licht bitterig, zoetig, citrus, pompelmoes, mout en een florale toets.
HET MONDGEVOEL:
Medium body, wat bitterdroog, een stoffige textuur, een wat prikkelend koolzuurgas.
DE NASMAAK:
De lichte hopbitterheid vloeit wat uit, zoetig, citrus, mout, wat floraal en een licht droge tint.
HET TOTAALGEVOEL:
Een harmonieus bier.
HET VERDICT:
Deze ‘groene’ is heel verschillend van de ‘normale’ Duvel, ben wel geen voorstander van flesjes van 25cc. Verder valt hier vooral de speciale hopgeur op. In zijn klasse een heerlijk biertje toch.
