Can. Cloudy, light amber body. Frothy, off-white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of leafy hops, citrus, caramel grapefruit, mango. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Alcoholic finish, lingering bitterness. Taste of tropical fruit, raw hops and peppery alcohol.

Rich copper coloured body wiht a thin, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of very rich and dank hops with a pungent alcohol and sugar smell and seemingly a lot of malt, as well. Full-bodied; Rich malty flavour with some rye and specialty grains in there for sure, possibly oatmeal. Aftertaste shows a good deep hoppiness and a lot of sugars, but the alcohol is almost overwhelming and the flavour finishes with a touch of metal as well. Overall, a pungent and very strong Imperial IPA in a can, which is a good amount to like, but this doesn’t deliver compared to others in the style. That said, if you are looking for a ’different’ beer from New York in a can that’s higher in alcohol - this one could be worth trying. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 08-November-2014 for US$3,25 sampled at home in Washington on 16-September-2015.

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a cloudy amber-brown color with a large creamy-soapy orange-tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was strong floral, fruity and tropical fruits, a bit tart yet sweet and malty with a touch of honey. The flavor was sweet and malty with toasted sour caramel, pine, tropical fruit and fruity hops. Long finish that turns a touch harsh. Full body.

Can. A hazy, dark golden beer with a small, dense, off-white head. Some lacings. The aroma is rather boozy, with piney, resiny hops and grapefruit. Maltyness in the back. It’s full-bodied yet feeling thin, with a pleasant carbonation level. Pine cones, resins, some pale malts and booze in the flavor, a good bitterness too, lasting for a good while. Too heavy on the booze this one, but there’s some good aromas and flavors anyway. 150606

Pours slightly hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt. caramel, pine, citrus, grape and alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long very warm, piney, grape and citrus finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Can sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks Tom L. Clear deep golden. Aroma of citric and piney hops, slightly stale, a bit of marmalade, and an alcohol hint. Sweetish flavor with malt, some caramel, piney hops, slightly stale, and a bitterish finish with a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied.

Cask, "dry hopped with mosaic". Deep orange with greenish tint, small off-white foamy head, sharp hops aroma, low carbonation, somewhat flat taste with an explosion of alcohol and hops half a second later, medium finish with bitter aftertaste. Very strange mixture of flat and sharp effects, not sure I liked it very much.

Location: Growler from Melville Superstar Beverage, 8/18/14

Aroma: The aroma is really nice, big citrus and pine hops, fresh and enjoyable
Appearance: It pours a murky orange color with a small beige head and some fairly heavy lace
Flavor: The flavor is not quite as nice, the hops don't live up to the nose, and it has a boozy finish
Palate: The body is fairly full, it is a little sticky, and it has an overly hot, fairly dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this one was good overall, but the nose is definitely the standout component. Still, this is a nice beer, I just wish the rest of the beer could have lived up to the aroma.

Can thnx to Matt Drank from the can, so no appearance besides the looks of the can . Which is nice , dark grey to black . Very modern, simple yet cool . Smell is pure fruityness . Taste is very fruity, mango, bit pine, bitter, malty, very balanced , intense , bitter , fruity finish . DAMN ! one of the best iPA’s so far ! Bit sticky mouthfeel, rather low carbo . ABV mentioned on can is 10 . This should be more famous than pliny, since it IS better . Damn good stuff
