Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. The lambic for this brew comes from the Boon (Lembeek) brewery, according to the original recipe of Henri Vandervelden, the founder of Oud Beersel.

Trübe gelbe Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Sauer fruchtiger Geruch. Geschmacklich sauer, fruchtig nach Ãpfeln, leicht malzig. Leicht süß mit hoher Bitterkeit und deutlicher Säuerlichkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

From Big Top: pours golden with small head. Aroma is funky, basement, slight fruit. Taste is tart, not too acidic. Slight sweetness. Enough complexity to be interesting.

Corked bottle, 0.375l, shared with David and Simona. Aroma is funky, vinous, ripe fruity and woody. Pours cloudy amber color with thick creamy white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts tart vinous, grainy and funky, follows by tannins with grassy note and rather dry mouthfeel. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Sharing is caring…

Barwa złota, zamglone, piana biała, dość obfita, dość trwała. W aromacie stajnia, nuty winne, żółte owoce, lekkie przyprawy. W smaku kwaśność do średniej, owocowe, nuty funky. Wysycenie średniowysokie, ciało w normie, lekkie taniny i przyprawy na finiszu. Klasyka w dobrej formie.
