Rice Lager with Saaz. Rice has gotten a bad rap. Stateside we think of the cheap, macro beers made en masse, but Japan has a long tradition of using rice the right way in the brewing process, achieving clarity, crispness, and subtle sweetness. In our business, it’s also a perfect platform for showcasing the unique qualities of the hops employed. Delicate notes of Iced Camomile Tea, Junmai Sake, Melon Mochi and Hokkaido Summertime.

Toasted rice, like the crispy bits on bottom in the rice maker. Pours clear golden with decent head. Mostly clean finish. Tap at West Highland location.

Can from Tavour. Pours very pale gold with a decent creamy white head. Grass/spice for aroma. Med body. Pretty dry. Very grass/spice for bitterness. Hard to pick out malt - there's something, but it probably is the rice. Picks up a sweet note as time progresses.

ABV: 5.5%. Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, rice, light hoppy, grass, floral. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, pale malt, floral, grass, sweet malt, rice. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20211023]

Taste at Trail's End. Pours a clear, pale, golden color, with a medium, white head. The nose is saltine crackers, jasmine, light grassy hops, and cane sugar. Not too sweet, with a crisp, light bitterness. Light, clean, and well made.
