Bottle courtesy of Jonas and Ursula, we had this after a day at Hallertauer Bierfestival weekend, Attenkirchen Saturday 25th June 2022 in the company of Jonas and Ursula. Pours as Jonas accurately described as dark brown heading towards black, murky, a filmy light beige head atop. Tart, dark fruits, dry finish, also as Ursula suggests there is liquorice here. Good beer.

Tap at Beergeek Bar. Very dark brown body, off-white head. Huge maltiness at first, caramel, molasses, some dark fruit, with a huge funky toothrot presence as welll... and overtakes all of that. The taste continues with the huge funk, wild notes, toothrot, bittern notes, citric, tart and bitter, but hey, without alcohol? Ugh... this seems to be hugely hit & miss but what I had in my glass was a huge miss, not characteristic for the brewer.

Bottle: Literally black, small off-white foamy layer, moderate to solid aroma of molasses, dried dark fruits - especially raisins and toasted malt, not to forget the traces of dark bitter chocolate; solid bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied as expected, silky MF; lingering toasty, fruity and chocolatey finish. Oh well! Really a goody...

On tap @ Ghetto Something. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, caramel and cheese with stinky feet note. Pours almost black color with thick creamy light brown head and great lacing. Tastes of sweet roasted malt, molasses, dried fruit and yeast with earthy and slightly tart finish. Medium to full body, oily texture and soft carbonation in palate. Camembeert…

0.33 l bottle from 'Vormann Brauerei'. Black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of molasses, red grapes, prunes and chocolate. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently fruity and slightly roasty taste of molasses, chocolate, coffee, red grapes and prunes, followed by a medium long, quite roasty-bitter, gently earthy, minimally tart finish. Full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Finally a beer of which I didn't know what to expect from beforehand, doesn't come that often anymore. It somehow resembles an oxidized RIS, very interesting (and tasty). Good one, but wonder how close it is to a historical example.
