Irish Stout. Reverend Hooker is a smooth, creamy dry Irish stout. Pouring black with a tight white head, toasted malt & dried fruit aromas merge with earthy hop notes & evolve into a sublimely smooth & silky palate. Luscious roast malt characters of coffee & toast make way for a long & noble bitterness & delectably dry finish.

Can from the brewery. This one is actually 5.5% suggesting possibly different iteration. Appearance - dark brown to black with a tan head. Nose - light smoke, earth and beef stock. Taste - smoke more prominent, molasses and maybe some very dry blackberries. Palate - close to medium bodied with a set middle section and a dry roasty finish. Overall - definitely correct in terms of basic style characteristics.

Keg at BD Clerkenwell. Sweet fruity malty aroma. Dark cola brown. Frothy beige head just forms a ring. Sour edged sweet berries. Some coffee light bitterness appears into the finish. Light bodied. Slick if thin. Flat carbonation. Dry astringent finish. Doesn't so much for me. It's there, yeah. Just didn't do it for me.
