Shared at BBT 31/01/2022. Med-full body, medium carbonation. Lots of chocolatey and roasty malt character, also med-high chilli flavour and moderate heat - not too much, but not too little either. Moderate paprika. Quite good.

Bottle 0.33l from our archive, four and half years aged. Black, opaque. AROMA- roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, pralines, no sign of chilli. FLAVOR- very smooth and silky, slightly sweet, slightly bitter, lightly chilli hot, chocolate, pralines, alcohol, roasted, caramel. Fuller bodied. Well, tasty enough, but something's missing I'm afraid.

bottle from hopt 2015 on label. tasted 2022 pitch dark, brown head. strong aroma, ancient portugal port wine cellar, roasted malts, dried dark fruits, 20% quad aroma 80% imp stout. very fruity. Flavor has a ninja chili bite that is unnoticed at first but hits you hard in the aftertaste, the aftertaste also has some hard roasted malts and charred woody notes, in the beginning you get vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate. the chili is very hot, medium aromatic. my bottle says 2015 not sure if it is that old. If it is, that could explain the dark fruity notes. Quite sure it is not infected, it behaved very well when openned. pretty tasty pastry chili stout, if it is in fact 2015, it has aged very well.

33cl bottle from hopt.it. Pours black, with basically no foam. Aroma is of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, peppers. Body is fairly dense, with tickling carbonation mixed with the chili feeling. Taste is a mix of some sweetness, good roastiness, and quite a chili feeling that continues long into the final.

2015? Tasty balanced stout... No dusty flavors whatsoever... Chili is just enough. Nice!

Bottle at Bishops Arms Vasagatan. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, licorice and some chili. The same in the taste, alhough with more chili. Medium sweet and with an almost full body. A decent one.

Heb geen last van de chili dus prima. Zelden een tegenvaller van deze brouwerij.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a small, rough, light brown head. Subtle roasty nose with a vague hint of coffee. Medium body, almost flat, doesn't feel like 12% at all. Subtle roast and salty licorice, but what came out as coffee in the aroma now reveals itself as chili. The pebbers are spicy, delivering just a subtle, tangy bite but no real dramas here. It's all kep pretty neat and low key - as it should be. No real booziness - it REALLY doesn't feel like 12%.... 131219
