Black Imperial Russian Stout style beer with oats.

Why Russian? Because this style of beer was born in the 18th century in England for export to Russia. The Czars enjoyed English stouts but preferred them with more body and alcohol, hence the adjective “imperial” they were given. It is a delicate style to brew due to the complexity of the forces to be balanced with this power: texture (between dryness and roundness), aromas, flavors, acidity, astringency, bitterness, alcohol... All this from only cereals more or less roasted (9 types of barley and oat malt here) and hops! It is also a more expensive beer to produce: it requires a large quantity of raw materials, and its high alcohol content results in a high state tax.
