Imperial Stout with Coffee. When asked for his definition of paradise, Mr. Cash said, "This morning, with her, having coffee." Our collaboration with Mostra coffee uses Costa Rican Aguas Claras beans to accentuate the rich, chocolatey notes of this fine stout.

Pretty clumsy imperial coffee stout, but still enjoyable despite its heavy-handed profile. Starts with an unexpectedly thick, gooey chocolate sweetness, yet quickly dries out, bringing out a deep anise and bitter espresso middle before the hops create a rich, roasty back end. Dark cherry, pine, and caramel notes pop up in the finish, while the fade grows boozy and somewhat abrasive. Mocha nose is lovely, as is the dark, viscous black pour. Again, the feel's off, harsh and warm, but otherwise a decent pint.

Can into a snifter showing pitch black with sparse clean white foam. The nose shows pronounced notes of green pepper and coffee bean. The palate is light bodied and lightly carbonated. Pronounced flavors of black coffee with a moderately intense coffee bitterness.

12 oz. can. Pours almost black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Taste follows nose with some faint chocolate notes. Nothing particularly unique, yet it’s quite nice.

Can. Black pour. Aroma of mocha coffee, chocolate, earthy vanilla and some licorice. Taste has soft mocha coffee, licorice, chocolate, caramelised malt and a bitter finish. Not outstanding, but just solidly good.

Can. Pours opaque back, medium creamy tan head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is roast and coffee. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, coffee and roast with some tobacco and very light cocoa notes. Full body. Pretty solid can’o impy.

Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is a nice huge coffee with the bitterness and roast of a good stout. Flavor is coffee and bitter roast with some red berry. No alcohol is detected and there is a nice roasted coffee and malt left on the tongue after the swallow. Nice coffee stout, plenty of coffee and roasted malt.
