A very dark ruby red beer. We are a progressive and forward thinking company but we are proud of our history. This beer harks back to the traditional dark ales of yesteryear. The finest ingredients are used to derive a roasted sweetness in flavour and we add oodles of caramel to provide a toffee finish and a dark red colour. An easy drinking, sessionable beer with one foot in the past and the other planted firmly in the future!

Hand pulled half pint at the Vine Inn, Nantwich on 17th December 2025. Nice looking beer, deep ruby red body, off white crown that stayed around for a while. Nice malty feel to this one.

Moved on from Altrincham to Ashton-on-Mersey for another Mild Magic challenge pub but yet another with no mild. Not a bad ruby ale.

Half-pint, cask ale at Abel Heywood. Steady off-white head, clear ruby-black in the glass, scattered lacing. Lightly roasted malty aromas, hints of dried fruits. Moments of chocolate malts, bread, and dried fruits to the taste profile. Carefully roasted finish. Easy to drink. Nice, a bit diluted though. (Manchester, 01.05.2025).

Cask @ Abel Heywood, Manchester. Same as name in appearance. Crisp but no diversion from its name in terms of taste too, as it does what it says on the tin having a light dark malt sweetness about it. 636312

Cask at Vine. Nantwich. As might be expected, this pours a dark ruby red with minimal foamy off-white head. Aroma just has a general fruitiness. Similar in the mouth, but now we can identify plums, pears and raspberries plus some roasted malts. Finish is malty. This is a decent mild.
