Cask ABV: 4.6%
An award-winning golden bitter from an all malt brew, with Styrian Golding hops added at various stages, to give a classic hop flavour and aroma.
A bitter beer of great character, appealing to those drinkers who really appreciate their beer and are looking for quality.
Launched in 1995 as ‘September Ale’, Jennings Cocker Hoop has become hugely popular, particularly with Lake District tourists in summer
The name is derived from ‘Cock-a Hoop’, an old custom of removing the cock (or spigot) from a barrel and resting it on the hoop of the cask before commencing a drinking bout, but was changed to reflect the brewery’s location on the banks of the River Cocker.

500 ml bottle, bought in London. ABV is 4.2%. Deep golden colour, large white head. Aroma of blackcurrants and blackcurrant leaves, a hint of toffee. . The flavour is medium dry with a slight fruitiness, which makes it quite drinkable. Decent hops in the finish, become sharpish in the aftertaste.

Bottled 500ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Shared with Marko and hrabren. Dark golden coloured, small off-white head, slightly sulphury nose. Water with notes of sulphur or similar chemical compound with touch of caramel and herbs. Something is wrong here...

0.5 l bottle from Pivoteka Zagreb. Shared with Marko and Ogi. Clear golden, almost invisible off white head. Industrial malts and hops, watery. No distinct taste, no finish. Like a watered down soup cooked in dirty water or something. Terrible.

Shared with Ogivlado and Hrabren. Golden body. Smells burnt... matches. Burnt hay. Something like that. Sulphury, cabbage. Oh, and malt. What the.... Burnt apple taste. Sweetish, vaguely bitter, vaguely sulphury... unappealing. Saved by a tiny touch of lemon pith. Oh great...

Cask. Yellow, slightly hazy, with white foam. Aroma: malt, yeast, slightly fruity. Taste: low carbonization, easy tartness, malty, earthy hops, good beer.

500ml bottle into pint glass. Hoppy/malt nose. Slightly cloudy golden beer with solid white head. Bitter hop taste with toasted malt tones. A little carbonation. Excellent bitter finish.
