15 July 2020. At Dok Brewing Company. Cheers to Anke & colleagues! Cloudy black, stable, thick, foamy, dark beige head. Aroma of bourbon, prune, green & red apple, vanilla, chocolate praliné, wet wood, cashew. Taste has sweet prune, milk chocolate & cream, touch of vanilla, bitter mocha with a nutty edge; malty finish with dried fruit, herbal hops, creamy vanilla & boozy bourbon alcohol. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Just the right amount of bourbon treatment here, great.

Pours a black colour and a brown head that doesn't last long. Aroma's of roasted malts, umami (from the glass), sweet, fudge, chocolate, a bit boozy and fruity (retronasal). Flavour is quite sweet, roasted, light alcohol. Alcohol feel is not too strong for its 13%. Medium bodied. Roast, sweetness and light bitterness in the finish. Nice, but I hardly get any bourbon/barrel, which costs points.

Erg goed!

33cl Bottle from Vonk. Black colour, beige-brown head. Aroma of soy, molasses, liquorice, roast, some chocolate, hint of oak. Flavour is sweet, malty, soy sauce, molasses, some roast, bittersweet finish. Medium to full bodied. Don't get any real barrel ageing, which is a shame really. Could have lifted the beer. A bit simple now.

Bottle. Color: Black, light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, subtle Bourbon. Taste: Roasted malt, coffee, mocha, very subtle Bourbon, vanilla. Liquorice hints. Smooth mouthfeel. Over medium body, soft cabonation. Medium to over medium sweet, light to moderate bitter. Long lasting sweetish finish. Compared to the non BBA 2018 version it seems like the subtle Bourbon replaces some of the roasted malt and coffee flavours, although they're pretty close to each other. Very nice.
