We teamed up with the good people from White Labs, based in Copenhagen, to craft together our version of a Saison, one of our favourite Belgian-style Ales. We used the White Labs organic Non STA1son Ale Yeast blend, with its Belgian-like profile expressing fruity and estery characteristics, it’s perfect for classic Belgian styles like this Saison.
In this Saison you’ll identify fruit-like notes, ranging from lemon and tropical fruit to chamomile, as well as an array of spice-like phenolic driven aromas like pepper, clove, and coriander.

Can 500ml @ Hotel Eken. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, hay, yeast, grass and floral. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with a long hay, honeydew melon and grass finish. Body is medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Blond with light haze and lasting head. Basic blond with what seems like a simple yeast addition adding some dryness. Cut grass too.

Can. Somewhat cloudy golden amber with a large white head that sticks around a while. Aroma of peach, orange, dough, spices is rather wit-like. Lightish bodied, fairly high carbonation. Fruity, dough, modest spiced bitterness. Saisons can be a few things I guess but dry and bitter at the end should be part of it, surely.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Yellowish golden colour with a small foamy white head. Aroma is fruity, citrus, some crisp malts as well as some slight yeasty elements. Flavour is floral, some yeasty, earthy and quite grainy.

Can 50 cl. Pours golden with a slight haze and a small, rough, white head. Yeasty, fruity nose. Medium body, dry, spicy, fruitiness with plenty of bittering hops. Not the most estery or complex, but super drinkable. I'm getting more and more fond of these clean Saisons. 230223

Gulbrun lett tåkete med hvitt skum. Lukter bondegård, høy, gjær og noe lys karamell og smør. Middels fylde. Noe bitter. Smaker, høy, gjær, sitrusskall og noe kokte grønnsaker. Middels lang.

ABV: 6.5%. Light cloudy medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, herbs, grass, moderate yeasty, fruity yeast, saison yeast, minerals, light spice - herbs. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration, herbs - spice, herbs - grass, saison yeast, wheat. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.
