We hosted our new friends Tartarus Brewing earlier in the year and decided to brew up a big, boozy and beautiful Belgian golden strong. Brewed traditionally using a simple malt bill of all german lager malt, hopped lightly with Tettnang and Herkules hops and fermented warm with Belgian yeast for maximum fruity and spicy esters. It pours a bright straw colour with a large foamy head, aromas of sweet pear and tangerine dominant along with hints of bubblegum and peppery spice. At 9.9% it has a surprisingly smooth, light and crisp body with just a hint of booziness.

440ml can from S43. Clear bright golden colour, thin white foam head and aroma of fruity peach, belgium yeast. Taste is sweet, candy, fruity, banana, melon, yeasty, with some booze and spicy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying fruity boozy spicy finish. Nicely drinkable.

A really nice and solid Belgian ale. Boozy, but still tasty and balanced Hazed golden pour and a decent head Pleasant intensity in the aroma Mellow sweetness and a mild acidity Also a mellow carbonation level. Easy to drink Ok masked alcohol level. No sticky alcohol notes Yeast, fruity, malty, flowers and some spices in the flavor [On tap at TÆPS in Fredrikstad, Norway]

Can from Brewser. Light hazed golden colour with a white head. Aroma and taste are malty, fruity citrus, spicy yeast. It certainly has a Belgian strong beer taste. Slight sweet and spicy taste. Full boozy body.

Keg at the wee vault. Pours golden, nose is grassy, toffee, herbs, spices, taste is similar, sweet, a little citrus.
