First brewed to celebrate the wedding of the Crown Prince of Bavaria in 1810, this festival beer was a richer version than traditional brews, and has continued every autumn for the last 200 years. Ours is made with floor-malted barley and toasty Munich & sweet caramel malts, which provide a rich malty flavor & copper color. The malt profile is balanced with imported German hops, including Sterling & Tettnanger.

On tap at the SLC BP. Clear deep copper with a full off white head and blocky spots of lacing. A hint of the light toast caramel maltiness but this is a pretty light version even if that. another well attenuated and clean quick finishing beer.

Draft @ brewery. Musty barley malt aroma. Clear copper with a moderate off-white head. Earthy caramel malt and light bitter grassy hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation.

On tap in Denver for GABF 2012. Somehow I missed this when it was local. Pours a clear amber color with a medium white head. A nice spicy nose with some yeast and dust. Quite big flavors for such a small beer with spices, especially cinnamon, dry, very sweet and tasty. Good.
