Tap at brewery. Dry earthy oak, light bourbon, slightly smoky, molasses, and alcohol aroma. Black with a moderate tan head. Woody/oaky, roasty coffee malt, light bourbon, sweet chocolate and vanilla flavor. Full viscous body, low carbonation. Overall, a dry woody/earthy quality, and not extremely sweet. Although the alcohol was quite prevalent in the aroma, it was very well hidden in the flavor (brewery told me it was 9%).

draft at the main brewpub - Pours black and smells of roasted malt, chocolate, and bourbon. There’s a big chocolate malt flavor with ample bourbon and a heavy dose of bittering hops. This brew is intense, full bodied, and carries some alcohol heat with it. Well done. Maybe I can try it again when it’s not right after their fall festival so my palate will be in better shape.
