This West Coast IPA is anything but amateur. Columbus, Citra, Simcoe and Azacca hops pull the strings of an all-star cast of flavour. Citrus, resin and pine are supported by grapefruit and stone fruit with no need for an interval. A subtle malt base is present throughout and topped off by an assertive bitter encore. Sit back and enjoy the show.

440ml can: BB 6th March 2023. Drank at home on 8th May 2022. Slight haze to the golden body, white crust on top. Citrus front with grapefruit to the fore, joined by a piney hop presence along the way, it's OK but didn't pull any strings for me.

Can picked Sainsburys, Hereford consumed at Isobels' Spond, nr Kington, Herefordshire Thursday 5th May 2022, Loz and Isobel made Schnitzels. Pours light hazy yellowy gold with a white head, some grassy hops, fruity, mostly a little grapefruit, with a thin and slightly watery feel, it has a steady bitterness but even that is a little muted. Isn't a patch on a classic West Coast IPA, I would probably score it higher if it thought of itself as an American Pale Ale.

[44cl can from Morrisons, Bracknell.] A pale amber pour with a thin cream coloured head; fresh pine aroma with some orange juice; crisp in the mouth with an immediate resinous bitterness and a fruity orange body; then a lingering peppery bitter finish. A rather good IPA.

Can from ASDA Supermarket, Manchester. Clear golden with a thickish frothy head. Nicely hoppy, some fizz, some dryness in taste and aftertaste. Its strength gives depth but isn't a huge factor with citrus flavours still evident, albeit not overly fruity.

Short lived beige head left a spotty cover on a clear amber coloured body. Sweet citrus & confectionery aroma. Medium bodied, soft with a tingle on the back. Sweet citrus, bubble gum, stone fruit & lightly malted tastes with a resinous finish. Easy drinker.
