A refreshingly hoppy American pale ale, Pipsqueak Penguin is another edition in our "Small Bird Series" of lower ABV offerings, this time brewed for the colder months! The nose is a fusion of lime zest and pineapple. White grape and clementine fill out the flavor profile, balanced by a structured grainy backbone and a crisp, dry finish.

Pint on draft at Par28 for work function. Hazy yellow, decent sparkle, head, lacing. Aroma and taste are citrus, lemon, orchard fruit, bread. Smooth, soft carbonation, a tad thin but understandable for ABV and style. Easy drink.

16 oz. can. Pours a hazy, pale, yellow color, with a small, bubbly, white head. The aroma is peach, quinine, mild spruce, butterscotch, and coriander. Off-dry and juicy, with a zesty bitterness. Medium body, sticky, and chewy. Hard, bold, and tasty.

Pours a hazy, golden-orange, with minimal head. Aroma has some sour fruit and grass. Flavor is pine/spruce hops, some citrus, grassiness, breadiness. Rather bitter finish. It's got a very different profile than the hop bombs that Trillium often favors, but it's still really good.

Can shared in Hackney - cheers to Jonny! Pours hazy gold with a creamy, white head. The nose has some pithy citrus, tangerine, grainy pale bread. Light sweet flavour with some ripening citrus fruits, rindy bitterness, a little booze, melon, pale grains. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with more pale grains, lemon, tangerine. So so overall.

Chez Smith bottleshare. Thanks to Leightonfor the can. Hazy gold beer, small bubbly cream colour head. Palate is light, mildly dry and has a good fine crispness. Light malts bring a super light creamy sweetness. Good hop spice, starts to singe a bit. Light pine. Good tangy spicy orange and tangerine, just a tad thin. Light finish. Clean, spicy and drinkable. Could drink a lot of this.
