Can at home picked up from HOTM. A cola brown coloured pour with a fading airy mid tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, nutty, brown bread, raisin, light chocolate, cola cubes. Flavour is composed of semi sweetm nutty malts, layered malts, brown bread, twig, light cherry cola, light tang. Palate is semi sweet, light tang, highish fizzy carbonation. Ok.

Can from HOTM. Deep chestnut brown colour with a pale tan head. Aroma and taste are malty chocolate and nutty. Slight sweet. Smooth body.

Can at home, thanks to Garrold for the hook up, 29/02/20. Extremely dark mahogany brown, almost black, with a well presented tan cap. Nose is brown bread, toffee, brown sugar dusting, dried fruits, baking powder, nutty twang. Taste comprises malt loaf, brown sugars, toffee, caramel, dates, dried fruits, prunes. Medium bodied, fine massaging carbonation, light dryness in the close. Solid stuff for the style.

Keg at Brewdog Tower Hill, London. A dark brown coloured pour with a medium off white/beige head on top. Roasty, malty, caramel, dark fruit aroma and taste. Not a bad effort.

Keg at BD Tower Hill. Floral and caramel edged malty aroma. Glossy opaque dark brown. Thick creamy beige head. Sour edged sweetness. Underlying coffee bitterness that gradually asserts itself. Light-medium bodied. Creamy (low fat consistency). Relatively abrupt finish. I drank it. It's fine.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours hazy dark brown with a cream-coloured head. Aromas of liquorice, toffee, vanilla. Taste is toffee, burnt roast, vanilla fudge, light fruity notes on the finish.

Can at home in Hackney - massive thanks to Garrold. Pours clear cola brown with a creamy, beige head. Gorgeous beer, lovely toasted malts, caramel, brown bread, very soft roast, a hint of earthy coffee. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Sweet finish that really works well. More toasted malt character, hints of dried berries, toffee, faint cocoa. Incredibly drinkable. It's a malty masterclass.
