Tap at MBCC. Jet black pour with a beige head. It’s packed with notes of bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, booze, coffee and nuts. Might not be the most complex beer I’ve had but it’s incredibly rich and intense, it’s heavy af, a true sipper.

Bomber at Kenny's..It pours oily jet black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich and intoxicating, toffee, chocolate bourbons, bourbon soaked oak, fudge, rocky road, dried fruits, fruit cake, raisin, sultana and black bun. The taste is slick, oily, toothy, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, rocky road, hot chocolate, warming booze, vanilla fudge, bourbon, bourbon soaked oak, chewy, toothy, some dried fruits and a nip of spice with a drying finish. Fullsome body and fine carbonation, slick mouth feel. Super rich and decadent, but enjoyable.

Bottle split at the Columbus Christmas Bash (who knew this would be the last!), Team purchase, Level 6, 15/12/22. Pitch black with a decent khaki cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is chocolate, charr, bourbon rip, spice, toffee fudge, dark malts. Taste comprises chocolate, brown sugar melt, spice, coffee, dates, figs, barrel. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid but not from Cycles top drawer ... barrel not singing as well as it sometimes does.

22oz bottle pours an oily, translucent brown and black with zero head but legs. Nose has tons of malt and booze and barrel and dried fruits. Port and date. Whiskey and dried prune. Flavor brings more of the promised cocoa and so much barrel. Caramel. Char. Booze. Finishes full bodied, still a touch hot, some tannins.

Bottle shared in London - cheers team! Pours black-brown with a frothy beige head. Medium to big sweet flavour, lots of raisins, rocky road fudge, moderate roast, vanilla, bourbon, earth. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, loads of fudge, mellow bitterness, dark berries, figs, dates. Delicious. Nicely rounded sipper. Great depth.

Xmas Boozy Bottleshare. Thanks to the team. Opaque dark brown beer, slightly oily looking, not much of a head. Smooth palate, slightly soft, decent fine carbonation. Smooth rich dark chocolate and cream malts that are harmonious with layered and rich whiskey fruity flavours. Some booze and alcohol spice but it works in this big soft rich treat. Smashing!
