Flaske fra Kvickly, Odder. Den er grumset brun med et hvidt skum. Aromaen er krydret, malt og sød. Den er sød, lidt bitter og lidt syrlig, med en lidt tør eftersmag.

Bottle from Kvickly, Odder. Hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, fruity, toffee and sherry. Flavor is very sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish with lots of warming alcohol. 190424

Bottled. A cloudy golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, sherry, wood, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, sherry, wood, and alcohol, leading to a dry finish. Nice, but a little OTT.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Deep amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is nutty, floral, some berries and mild toffee tones. Flavour is fruity, some berries, toffee and quite strong alcohol to it. Also some sherry notes in the finish.

0.5 I bottle from 'Estate Wine - Beer Paradise', 2021 release, best before December 2028. Clear, ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, quite fruity, slightly vinous aroma of marzipan, caramel, raisins, vanilla, oak and some sherry. Quite sweet, malty, gently fruity, slightly spicy, moderately vinous taste of vanilla, oak, sherry, marzipan, gingerbread, raisins, prunes and caramel, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, gently woody, slightly boozy, a bit peppery finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Lovely BA Barley Wine, quite complex while maintaining a reasonable drinkability. Don't get the low ratings at all.

50 cl bottle picked up at local Meny supermarket. Dark mahogany colour with a few tanned bubbles on top. Sweet aroma with massive sherry barrel: Figs, plums, dark dried fruits, dry wooden notes. You can feel the booze, a bit downplayed. Taste is sweet. Full body. Drying fruity finish with lingering sherry barrel. The barrel ageing leaves no room for the base beer. Some bitterness in the finish to balance everything. I expected better.

--Sample, thanks fonefan -- Almost clear mahogany colour, small head. Aroma of pears and cognac. Dryish with surpisingly light body and rounded mouthfeel. Pears and woody sherry, salted canteloupe, somewhat minerally. Long bitter finish with plenty of alcohol. Interesting, but not harmonious.

Draught @ Mig & Ølsnedkeren. Pours hay golden orange with a small offwhite head. Aroma of malt, caramel, sweet fruit, light burnt caramel, sherry. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, sweet dark fruit, sherry, some alcohol. Medium body, average carbonation, ligght sweet finish with some warming alcohol. 120322

ABV: 11.3%. Hazy medium red - orange amber colour with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, caramel, toffee, sherry - barrel. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, cherry, toffee, sweet malt, malty, dried fruit, barrel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20220402]
