Thick-set, irregular amberish cream coloured stable head over viscously pouring brown-black beer. Coffee, I Café Noir /I cookies, mocha, sweet malts, sweet meatroast. Sweet & roasty, very little bitterness until a woody finish. Dark green leaves, hint @ tobacco, and again coffee-flavoured cookies, but the finish is more coffee drab. Thick MF, slick to viscous, chewy, warming. Good carbonation. Bit too sweet, not bad. Txs to Stef!

Keg at If It Ain't Dutch, It Ain't Much, Bermondsey 27/10/23. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a beige cap. Nose is chocolate flakes, mellow roast, charr, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises toffee, chocolate, spice, brown bread, mellow roast, fruit cake mix. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol. Okay sipper but lacks depth for the ABV.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 26/01/2027.

Clear dark brown beer, big solid creamy bit irregular light beige to yellowish head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very malty, lots of grains, cow fodder, hay, gentle roast, caramel, cookie dough, sweet impression. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, caramel, malty, mocha, pretty bitter, more malts, grains, some chocolate notes. Aftertaste: a little sourish, good roast, bitter, more chocolate, nice!

10 April 2022. At 14de Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke & Pieter!
Hazy black, stable, frothy, tan head. Aroma of earth, walnut, mushroom, toast, prune. Taste has sweetish prune & fig; herbal, earthy & umami (mushroom) notes in a soft toasty malt body. Earthy hoppy finish with roasted coffee and some spices, dash of warming whisky-like alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Bit too herbal and 'vegetably', probably befitting a BIPA more, but otherwise flavourful.
