Seductive and dangerous at once, no one can deny the siren call of the tonka bean. Saturating layers of rich chocolate and 7g Roaster's Panama coffee with spicy warmth, it adds hints of caramel and nuts for an explosion of Latin American flavor. Rounded out by the tempered sweetness of lactose for a bewitchingly complex and buttery finish, this stout, like a fatal attraction, is utterly irresistible.

Bottle at Catraio Craft Beer Shop, Porto, 27/10/22. Black with a good sized tan head. Nose is solid roasted tones, chocolate, charr, toffee, dried fruit rinds, spice. Taste comprises coffee bean, good tonka blast, charr, mellow roast, chocolate, molasses, dates, figs. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol. Solid tonka fuelled affair.

Coffee and roast. Tonka has an odd flavour I can't place but it's bitter. The beer finishes very bitter overall. Black pour with good mocha head and lacing. Nice stuff. Tap at Porto Beer Fest.

Cloudy dark brown beer, no head at all. Aroma: oh my, yes! Lots of caramel, cinnamon notes, tonka beans, very nice stuff, very intense, more dark caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of caramel, sweet malts, tonka, some vanilla, more caramel, a bit sugary. Aftertaste: dried fruits, sweet caramel, sugary finish, very pleasant stuff!

Brune foncée/noire, pas de col, le tout finement huileux doré au verre.
Arôme met bien en avant les effluves de tonka -délicat, un peu sur un bouquet tropical - amande ce bouquet avec une touche rappelant le chocolat.
Palais est épais marqué, bonne dose de malts - entre caramel, grillé et cacao le tout avec le caractère bien placé de la fève de tonka - petite douceur avec une fine pointe d'amande avec un clin d'oeil épicé délicat. Le tout reste sur une base assez classique de gros stout.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max's place. Thanks Odi. Black, tan foam. Chocolate, some tonka, some alcohol, sweet and a bit umami, bitterish note. Nice.
