25 cl bottle @ home, now almost 4 years old. I left the last cm or so in the bottle, as it looked rather blobby. The beer has a deep brown color, with no head. Aroma's are sweet, caramel, dark fruit. Retronasal it's quite sweet, toffee-ish, a bit herbal. Flavor is above moderate sweet, a bit alcoholic. Alcohol is warming. Low carbonation. Medium to full bodied. Long finish, slightly bitter.

25 cl bottle @ some canal, Amsterdam. Bottled on 19.06.2014.
Aroma has lots of bready malt and toasted caramel. Also raisins. Feels like a German doppelbock. Flat and oily palate, quite close to sahti. Flavour has strong alcohol tones, caramel and bananas. Also some dp-like malt and sweet rye tones typical to a sahti. And ripe fruits with toffee at the end of the glass - this has turned from a sahti into a Belgian barley wine!. Aroma of a dp, taste, appearance and palate of a sahti, interesting. On blind tasting I’d say this is a sahti. The alcohol balances the sweetness here but this is kind of messy. Still I seem to enjoy this.

Bottled @ Arendsnest, medium sample. Almost clear amber to copper color, short to no head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, hint of vanilla, hint of raisin, slight earthy hop. Medium sweet in taste, bit bitter. English strong ale alike.
