We are delighted to be releasing our Dark Mild, paying homage to our historic brewpub site, as well as having the flexibility for our brewers to relish in creating a broad range of styles - from boundary blurring and innovative, to the humble and unassuming.
Every beer has a time and place and this Dark Mild with notes of; English hedgerow berries, smooth caramel and lightly roasted malt, with a rich mahogany hue, will be taking pride of place to see us through many cold evenings.

Cask at Nags Head. Pours a clear amber brown with a near white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a nice bread note with touches of darkness and roast supporting. Flavor has dark grains and a touch of roast with a light nuttiness.

Malty, roasted taste with dark bread, coffee, chocolate, prunes and a mild roasty bitterness. Light body, dry. Tasty and well made mild. Very nice.

Cask @ Prince of Wales, Shrewsbury. Pours dark brown, off-white froth. Aroma of nutty cola. Taste is past it's best unfortunately, extremely light bodied with stale water, nutty malt. Seems to fit the trad mild mould, but its condition lets it down. Rated according to the positive flavours detected.
