We are delighted to be releasing our Dark Mild, paying homage to our historic brewpub site, as well as having the flexibility for our brewers to relish in creating a broad range of styles - from boundary blurring and innovative, to the humble and unassuming.

Every beer has a time and place and this Dark Mild with notes of; English hedgerow berries, smooth caramel and lightly roasted malt, with a rich mahogany hue, will be taking pride of place to see us through many cold evenings.

Can at Ebenezers, Nantwich. Pours a rich ruby red with a sizeable but transient frothy cream head. Has a delicate aroma of malts, malts and a hint of chocolate. In the mouth the dominant flavour is dark fruits, berries and some cherries plus sweet malts. Has a fairly high carbonation a first. Finish is fairly fruity. This is more my sort of beer - packs quite a punch as well.

Can from Ghost Whale. Aroma had sour berries and underlying chocolatey malts. Opaque darkest brown. Creamy beige head soon develops a large bald spot. Light-medium sour. Low key underlying bitterness. A touch of fruity sugary sweetness in the finish plus a hint of trad boiled veg. Light-medium bodied. Slick if thinnish. Average-fizzy carbonation. Astringent finish. It's fine. Just not really doing it for me. And the aftertaste just seems a tad synthetic.

440ml can. Mahogany in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Aroma of brown sugar, with a hint of plain chocolate and oak. Flavour had ripe and bready malts, caramel, red berries before a gentle, sweet and somewhat toasty finish. Very good.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy ruby/amber body with a thick beige head. Low carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of raspberry and chocolate. Flavour of cranberry and green tea. Thin body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. I love a Dark Mild but this is slightly too sharp for me to love it.

Can at home in Hackney - sourced from All Good Beer. Pours clear brown with a frothy, beige head. Light to medium sweet with nice bready dark malts, toasted biscuits, nips of raisins and dark fruits, a little English yeast. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Balanced finish, more semi-dark malts, brown bread, berries. Tasty gear.
