On tap at Teerenpeli, Helsinki. Black with a beige head. Moderate roasty aroma with dark fruits, mild coffee and hints of chocolate. Medium sweet with mild, but pleasant roasty flavours and a mild bitterness. Pleasant stuff!

A colablack beer with an almost medium and beige head. The nose is strongly roasted with black coffee, even slightly burned. Taste of coffee and roastiness, simple but nice taste. Medium bodied, low carbonation, slippery and nice to drink. Balanced beer, lots of coffee but not too much.

33cl bottle. Near blac with a thin brown head. Roasted malt, cold coffee and cocoa in aroma. Flavor has some stale coffee, roastedness, ash and burnt malt. Dry finish. Don’t really like the coffee here. Too burnt also.

Bottled (from Alko Prisma, Vaasa). Very deep brown colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is very much coffee, some roasted malts and a bit of old black coffee as well. Flavour is very much coffee, roasted malts, mild toasted toffee, Also some slight liquorice and alcohol as it warms up a bit. Tasty!

Opaque black, good creamy beige head, lace. Aroma has coffee and hints of licorice. Medium-bodied. Quite carbonated. Coffeish, roasted flavor. Front is a bit weak, but has nice aftertaste. Simple and clean.

Draught @ Teerenpeli Kamppi
Served cold as ice
Aroma has coffee, peaty notes, some licorice and ash. Also some bitter, rubbery element. Flavour has bitter coffee, rubbery notes, some ash and peat. Foamy and creamy palate. Too much harsh bitterness here, but not bad anyway.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 07.09.2014
Enjoyed much warmer this time, but no noticeable improvement in taste. Too ashy still.

Draught @ Teerenpeli, Helsinki. Served ice cold.

Pours pitch black with a smooth light brown head. Aroma of roasted, almost burnt malts, mocha and hints of dark chocolate. Taste is smooth, roasty and sweet with hints of burnt wood, ash and faint notes of mocha. Finish is roasty, burnt and sweet with hints of chocolate and mocha. Quite well balanced despite the burnt notes. Quite good.

(Keg at Teerenpeli Kamppi, 20130925) Served way too cold. The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized, long lasting and lightly brown. Aroma had coffee, chocolate and roasted malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, burnt malts, mildly coffee, hint of chocolate, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, coffee and bitterness. Despite the strong burntness the end result was balanced. The coffee was quite hidden. Sometimes Teerenpeli brews a positive surprise.

Tap at Brewpub Teerenpeli, Helsinki. Colour is almost black with slightly brownish white small head. Aromas and flavours: Coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts. Soft, quite carbonated but tasty. Served as ice cold, WTF?
