Bottle. Almost black. Soft malt and roast aroma with hints of wet wood. Malty sweet roasty oaky flavor with caramel, vanilla, hint of licorice and smoke. The oak is fairly well integrated. Carbonation is soft.

Bottle, 9.1% ABV (sticker says it’s oak aged), bb 03.2018 (from het biermoment). Pours black with brown head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is sour, sweet, oak, soy, cocoa, malt, milky notes, alcohol, smoke. Flavor is sour, and bitter, rubber, malt, roast, oak, chocolate. Overall: would say it’s a bit off (the sourness doesn’t seem intentional), but I still kind of like it (could do without rubber tho). --- Beer merged from original tick of Ondog Oak Aged on 05 Jun 2023 at 13:07. 33cl bottle from Bierkoning, thanks Edo! Pours pitch black, oily. Brown head, quickly receding. Aroma’s: chocolate from the bottle, from the glass it’s roasty, red fruit, woody, a bit alcoholic. Retronasal it’s woody, roasty, light drop/licorice, salty/umami, fruit. Flavor is light sour with moderste sweetness, roast. Medium bodied. Finishes with some chocolate, wood, tannines. Pretty nice.

11/11/10/11/9/11

Bottle [from trade with bierkoning] @ home. Opaque black color, full sized brown head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, dark malts, tea. Taste malts, some roast, liquorice, a distant hint of oak that’s a little bit dominated by a hard to describe overlying dustyness. A bit weird but not unpleasant. A bit thin texture, average to decent body, soft carbonation. Interesting stout, but overall an ok beer.
