Tap@Skaal, Copenhagen (24/02/2018) - hazy golden amber coloured pour with white head. Fruity and malty, tropical and citrus fruits, hoppy and malty, some caramel, tangerine, grapefruit and peach, pine needles, hoppy bitter finish

From tap. Pours hazy orange. Small white head. Aroma is toasted malt, grapefruity hops. Bitter, smooth fruity. Crisp hoppy. Bitter. Lingering fruity and solid malt base. Bitter and dry finish.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced via Beergium. Pours unclear copper-gold with a frothy, mostly white head. The nose holds toasted pale malts, caramel, pine, ripening citrus fruits. Medium sweet flavour with further toasty pale malts, mild piney bitterness, ripe and somewhat jammy orange, a bit of earth, leaves, brown sugar. Medium bodied with average carbonation. More bready, toasty malts in the finish, more dry caramel, earthy hops, lightly resinous pine, aged citrus. Quite a throwback. This would have been much more impressive 10 years ago, but IPAs like this are a bit of a novelty these days.

On tap at All In, Zagreb. Pours hazy orange with medium creamy white head. Hoppy, sweetish, pine, some ripe fruit, citrus, marmalade. Medium bodied.

Pale amber, creamy foam. Aroma: sweet, lollipops, flowers, candied fruit. Taste: sweetish, candied fruits, medium bitterness, a little hay.

American style IPA from one of Estonia's leading and most internationally acclaimed craft brewers, after Pohjala and Ollenaut I suppose, hopped with Amarillo, Simcoe, Cascade and Magnum and intended as a tribute to the people that contributed to the crowdfunding project that made this brewery possible in 2013. Bottle from Beergium, best before March next year. Lots of pressure during opening, gushing only avoided by opening it really slowly... Irregular, off-white, moussy head, sticking to the edge in a tight 'membrane' and slowly (and only partially) dissolving in the middle but otherwise retaining, over an immediately hazy, peach blonde beer with orange hue; some thin strings of fizz rise up from the bottom of the glass. Promising, appetizing modern IPA nose of dried grapefruit peel, biscuit, sweet paprika powder, persimmon, pomelo, cheese crackers, toasted onions, green olives, oregano fried on top of a pizza, bitter garden herb leaves, hints of moist cigarette tobacco, old gingerbread, candied orange, something faintly incense-like. Lush but 'clean' fruitiness in the onset, sweetness of mandarin, ripe pineapple and lychee, with a basic sourishness underneath and citrus peel-like hop 'stings' already apparent from the start; softish carbonation, slick and rather oily, bit resiny but smooth mouthfeel, feeling a bit thinner than expected from a beer close to 7% ABV. Slick cereally and 'baked biscuity' maltiness, a little bit nutty on the edges, underneath a growing, aromatic 'new' hoppiness, releasing a retronasal fragrance of grapefruit juice, toasted onion, a dash of pine and orange zest while, down below in the mouth, adding a long-stretched, resinous, spicy layer of bitterness, with a wormwood-like character in the end, likely mostly established by the Magnum (the only Old World - and purely bittering - hop used here); yet still refraining from becoming overly harsh and leaving more than enough malt juiciness to pass through to maintain a high degree of drinkability; vague bready yeasty touches here and there too, but subtle enough not to disturb the showcasing of the (largely) classic New World hops. Classically West Coast American in its general make-up, this IPA would not really stand out if it were made in e.g. California, but considering this is Estonia - which has only developed a genuine craft beer culture in the past five to ten years - this is very well-done, Sori clearly understands this style and manages to deliver a perfectly fine, aromatic, pleasantly bittering and highly drinkable example. Perhaps a tad old school from a global (or indeed American) perspective, but very enjoyable and probably a decent and credible introduction of the average Estonian palate to classic West Coast India pale ale.

Bottle 090617. Pale amber color with a beige head. Aroma is citrus, oranges, fruit, malt, caramel. Flavor is citrus, pine, oranges, grapefruit, malt, fruit, caramel. Easy drinkable nice beer.

On tap at All In. Misty dark amber, white head. Aroma... Quite caramelly, aroma, light herbal touches. Taste... Lovely smooth mouthfeel, helped with mild prickly carbonation. Caramel and lemon rock candy, maybe a bit old, buy actually quite nice. Atypical but kinda works!!
