(Bottle, 0.5 l - BB 11.07.2014, from Alko, 20140205) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, grain, molasses and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, grass, molasses, nuts and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter, Nicely done brew and flavours were fuller than in the lower ABV version.

A hazy, copper beer with a weak and blond head. The nose of nuts, some bread, hint of roasted malts, also some dark and riped fruits with caramell. Taste is bready with nuts, also some nice and fresh fruits. The bitterness is quite mild but still clearly exist in the end as a herbal and slightly wooden. Medium bodied, mild carbonation, easy to drink. Quite nice, brittish style beer, surprisingly fresh. Maybe I will try this beer again.

50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 11.07.2014
Aroma is a bit odd and stale with malty notes, some grain, hints of hay and toffee. Flavour is sweetish and sticky with malt, grainy notes and some nuts. Perhaps also slight woody tones too. Finishes with grassy hops and some minerals. I find the 4,5% version better; this is just too sticky, sweet and not that refreshing.

Bottled (from Alko Prisma, Vaasa). Copper colured, mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity, bready, mild grainy notes as well as some slight raisins. Flavour is a bit grainy, quite strong on the herbal and grassy bitterness with some mild floral notes to it. A bit strong on the grassy bitterness, otherwise it’s quite smooth. Actually, when it gets closer to room temperature, it gets more bodied and the spelt + hopping melt together very nicely into a nicely bodied beer. 3.3 cold, 3.5 when warmer.
