33cl bottle from Alko. Bb 09/14. Dark dark brown, thin beige head. Lots of breadand rye in aroma, some chocolate notes as well. Very malty. Flavor has malt, rye bread, caramel sweetness, some coffee notes. Long bready finish. I love doppelbocks, this one delivers, not top notch, but nearly there.

Pours dark brown, almost black with a smooth brown head. Aroma of bready malts, hints of roastiness, caramel, chocolate and syrup. Taste is smooth, malty and slightly roasty with notes of syrup, bready notes, caramel and nutty notes. Finish is smooth, bitterish and malty with notes of syrup and ripe fruits. Quite heavy and balanced doppelbock.

Tap at Oluttupa Viisi Penniä, Helsinki. Colour is black with small slightly brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Chocolate, hints of grain, sweetness and malts. Getting nicely soft when warming up. More like chocolate porter.

Aroma is malty with some berry tones, cocoa and some sweetish chocolate. Flavour is a malty with chocolate, some coffee and cocoa tones. Sharp palate. A chocolaty doppelbock, delicious. Could be a porter as well.

(Draught at Gallows’ Kekri 2008) Almost black. Small tan coloured head. Roasty and sweet nose. Full bodied palate with medium cabonation. Roastedness, black currant, bitterness and coffee in taste. Long lasting bitter and roasty aftertaste.

Draught@brewpub. Opaque black colour, mediumsized beige foamy head. Roasted malts, some caramel and spices in the aroma. Roasted malts in flavour at first, with some kicking in hoppy bitterness. Not necessarily watery, but feels like something is lacking.
