Oranjekleurig bier met schuim. Smaak is licht zoet en kruidig met iets van citrus, perzik en abrikoos. Komt helaas ietwat waterig over.

Another new beer by this Antwerp company, a hoppy lager, combining two trends in the modern beer world (the hop forward movement on the one hand and the renewed interest in lagers on the other hand); bottle from the Delhaize supermarket in Lokeren. Snow white, moussy, membrane-lacing, thick and frothy head, lightly hazy ‘metallic’ old gold robe with very pale orangey tinge and lively carbonation, shifting to an overall mistiness with sediment. Aroma of fresh bitter garden herbs and wild green hop bells, grapefruit peel, camomile, raw celery, white bread crust, wet grains, jute, dust, unripe banana. Vaguely sweetish onset, some green apple and unripe banana notes, fairly neutral otherwise with minerally, bit ‘souring’ and stinging carbonation; slick, slightly oily mouthfeel, smooth cereally malt body with ‘white-bready’ character, evolving quickly to a long, grassy, field-floral, dried kitchen herb-like hop bitterness, a bit grapefruity but primarily ‘green’ and not rising further to lush New World aromatics, but providing a long, rooty, quinine-like bitterness. I don’t see much reason to advertise this as a modern IPL, it lacks New World hop aromas for that, but I can see this function as a classic, hoppy, almost Central European style Pilsener, if a bit of a weird one. Not an unpleasant lager at all, as far as I’m concerned.
