(bottle, 33cl) Dark brown to black coloured hue with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Leafy dark-malty and slightly roasted aroma with notes of caramel, chocolate and sugar. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a calm carbonation. Delicately roasted malty and leafy aroma with notes of caramel, milk chocolate; residual sugars during the mildly roast-malty finish with hints of chocolate in the aftertaste. Could have been more expressive. 28.V.12

Bottle looks a bit complex, but good. Beer in the glass dark, almost black, nice head. Starts mild, soft-malty, not too roasty. More sweet with hints of caramel and chocolate and cacao. Warming soft-malty finish, quite drinkable. Nice!

Trockener, leicht säuerlicher Beginn. Angenehme, wenn auch nicht sonderlich starke Malzigkeit. Mild bleibend, trocken malzig, seichte Röstnoten. Ziemlich unspektakulär. 9/9/11/8/9/8

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear orangey brown with an off-white head. Sweet, roasted aroma. Medium body, sweet roast, licorice, burned caramel and a perfumy touch - perhaps a whiff of vanilla. There’s a cardboard edge too. Licorice finish with hardly any hops. 170910

Bottle: Clear black colour, mid-sized off-white head; sweetish malty nose, a tinge of roasted malts, some liquorice; mild malty taste, longer dry aftertaste with a tinge of coffeeish bitterness. A very mild interpretation of the "Porter"-style, this should be better called "Dunkel". All in all a quite acceptable "Dunkel".......
