"Plank-Bier Dunkler Weizenbock", Flasche (MHD: 3.7.2025) von Liebick, geleert 27.6.2025. Mein 2. - Sehr gediegener, geradezu eleganter dunkler Weizenbock. Meisterhaft!

Bottled. Poured a murky caramel color with a a large head. Candyish aroma, some hops, a real good d-weiss.

very dark mahogany pour with ruby highlights. Wicked nose of dark sweet fruit, lots of yeast, and some nice bread. Great flavor of yeast, sweet bread, dark ripe fruits. Great esters, and a touch of bubblegum with some banana. excellent weizen!

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clearish coffee brown with a finger of beige head that lingers. Banana, clove and bread dominate the nose. Similar on the palate with more clove and a touch of pepper towards the end. ABV hidden well. Nice beer.

Backlog December 2008. Reddish brown body under a big off-white head. Aroma is malty with some dry fruit and hint of alcohol. Taste is dark malt, caramel, a bit fruity and not much sweetness. Medium body and dry aftertaste.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark brown, hazy, with very abundant cream foam, fine. Aroma is malty and caramel, recalling even a bit of barrel ageing and a thin hint of acetic. Body is average, with higher than average carbonation. Taste is pleasantly sweet, but not excessive. Final is slightly long but moderate in sweetness.

Can pour from The Beer Store, Nashua. It's a cloudy, maple-syrup brown with tons of sparkle, finger-width beige foamy head with decent retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is very strong banana, mild tart fruit element and light roast. Taste is strong banana, bubble gum and roast, brown bread. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with frothy texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, been a while since I've had the style. Why don't I have this more often, or is this just a really appealing one? I like it.
