Panda at home, thanks to Kenny, 16/06/24. Extremely dark mahogany brown topped with a beige cap that dissipates to a swirl and edging. Nose is fruit cake, dates, figs, toffee, herb, raisins, brown sugar melt. Taste comprises dark malts, chocolate, figs, dates, toasted brown sugar, toffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol. Tidy barley wine.

Can. Clear deep amber brown beer, small tidy pale tan head. Smooth airy palate, soft, modest fine carbonation. Rich soft caramel and very dark sugar malts, burned toffee creamy sweetness underneath. Very rich and ripe fruits coming through on the back end, rich prune, date and ripe fig. Smooth finish. Impressively ripe fruity barleywine. Off the beaten track. More ripe fruity than malt depth but, doesn't hurt here

Can @ Broadway Dive Bar, Manhattan (April 2023). Pours opaque dark brown with a very small frothy beige head that flops fast, mocha-roasted malt aroma, low carbonation, initially sweet roasted malt taste turns bitter with alcohol overtones, nutty flavor, smooth thin body, long boozy finish. It's like an explosion of nuts-flavored liquor in your mouth. Potent and satisfying despite being boozy.

16oz can from Hops & Bottles. Dark brown pour, tiny ring of beige head. Sweet malty aroma, raisins, molasses. Taste comes in sweet and boozy, prunes, leather, tobacco, malty, chocolate. Syrupy, creamy feel. ABV remains at the finish. A lot going on here. Sip and savor.
