Eine dunkle, traditionelle Spezialität nach Art der Väter, im Geschmack besonders vollmundig und leicht malzaromatisch.

50cl bottle picked up at the TrinkGut in Lippstadt. It pours with a clear amber body that supports a light tan head of foam that has a slight gray tint to it. The mild aroma offers up a touch of sweet malts, caramel and cherries. The taste has a hit of sour mash or something a bit tart to start off with. Maybe it’s the yeast. After that is grows into sweet cherry and prune notes mixing with malts and a slight caramel maltiness. It gets sweeter into the finish as the sweet dark fruity esters basically take over. Interesting and a bit a-typical for the style.

Wenig röstiger Antrunk, angenehme Süße. Spritzig, die Malzigkeit verstärkt sich etwas. Insgesamt aber weiterhin mild, trocken, monoton. Zum Ende würziger. 9/9/8/10/8/9

Bottle: Clear, amber coloured, medium sized loose off-white head, that collapses very slowly and leaves a little lace; moderate sweetish-caramelly nose with a light fresh hoppy breeze; moderate sweet-bitter flavour; light to moderate caramelly-bitter finish. Average Dunkel, but still quite pleasant.....

(bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Sweet toast-malty aroma with nutty notes, shades of vanilla and herbal hops. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toast-malty with a light sugary edge, caramel and a nutty touch, combined with shy herbal hoppy notes; medium-dry bitter-sweet finish. Decent Dunkel. 27.I.10

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing off-whiite head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and a bit of straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramal, and some fruit, leading to a dry bitter finish.
