Bear State is a classic IPA brewed in the spirit of the West Coast of the USA. This is a massively hoppy beer, balanced perfectly with a touch of malt sweetness and an intensely citrus hop character to finish.

Tap at the Birmingham Beer Bash, 2015. As Bear State. Poured a clear straw with a frothy white head. The aroma is grassy hop, light yeast. The flavour is moderate bitter with a big nettle, light resin hop, citrus bitter palate and a hint of toothpaste in the finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

(Bottle, 0.5 l - BB 24.03.16, as Bear State, at Salhojankadun Pub, 20150718) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, pine and citricness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, pine, citrciness, creamy toffee, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A nicely done hoppy brew.

Bottle. Golden beer with strong white head. The aroma is well hopped with yeastiness, and the flavour is substantially bitter with a heavy hopped dryness at the finish. Overall a nice well hopped IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
