Dark Mild. Dry, with roasted coffee and chocolate flavours. Named after the shipwreck of the Mexico in 1886 in which 27 of the 29 lifeboat crew died. The worst loss of RNLI crew in a single incident.

Cask at the 2018 Chelmsford & Mid Essex Beer & Cider Festival. Pours dark brown with minimal beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, hop and dark fruit. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily and watery texture, soft to flat carbonation.
