A Triple Dry Hopped Imperial IPA 26 years in the making
25 years ago we celebrated the 1st Anniversary of our fledgling brewery with a beer that was far away from the craft beer norms at the time. It was far too intense. It was far too hoppy and bitter. Yet it became the shot heard ‘round the world, and beer history was changed forever. We’re talking of course about our flagship Stone IPA. So, to celebrate the beer that (eventually) launched generations of hop fanatics, we present this imperial version of the beer that made our name among the (budding) craft beer legions. Loaded with gloriously bitter notes of piney, citrusy, resinous dankness, it’s everything we love about our classic West Coast style IPA…properly turned up to 11 25 for the occasion.

12 oz can. Pours a bright amber with huge head. Aromas of pine, pineapple, gummy tropical fruit, resin and soft toasted malts. Flavors of dry pine, resin, orange peel and bready malts. Pretty much an old school IPA. Is that now so unique and worthy to be an anniversary beer? Regardless, a solid IPA.

Eye catching label to begin with. This 12 oz can is from the nearest local beer shop, good to locate the brew. I'll be using a snifter on this sampling, my ABGB glass. The look is a totally clear, orange-yellow body followed by a thin top of off-white foam. The nose is heavy with pine, toffee and medicine, likely the right kind. I take a taste, pretty fine. Likewise a firm dose of hops, honey, malt, grass, oranges and some 420. Very bitter for this day and time and I get a bit of astringency too. Dry, yet still a significant depth to the sensation. It leans towards being like a cocktail. I gladly anticipate the 27th Anniversary.

12 oz. can, pours a mostly clear bright golden orange with a small white head. Nose is full of sticky resinous hops -- very old school -- with plenty of pine, and big caramel malts. Flavour is big, with lots of resinous hops, some pine, and big sticky caramel malts. Very old school, but yet very bold, bitter and sweet. It's too malty for my tastes, but it's still very damn good. Excellent.

Bought at Liquor Shed in Casper. Canned August 12th enjoy by December 10th 2022.
Pours a clear gold with an ample head of foam, good lacing.
Smells of pine, citrus, it's dank, has some cracker malt. Smells quite bitter.
Taste is pine, dank, orange citrus, cracker malt, bitterness is pretty large here. Not sensing an over booziness.
Bordering on full bodied, if it isn't, good carbonation.
A little less dankness and I would rate it higher but it's good.

12oz can from a 6 pack. Poured a clear, golden yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was resin, juicy hops. Flavor was nice pine, floral notes, caramel. Alcohol is really well hidden here.
