Bottle on the Eurostar to Brussels, thanks to Leighton. It pours deep red-brown, with a thin beige head. The nose is caramel, toffee, wood, cinnamon, nutmeg, raisin and currant. The taste is currant, raisin, plum, prune, booze, wood, caramel, toffee, some brett, nut and spice, with a warming finish. Full body and lively carbonation, but goes flat quickly. Not too shabby, perhaps a bit too boozy and sweet for me though.

6/29/2009 I’ve had this bottle in my cellar for a year or more. Pours a deep dark copper color with beautiful ruby hues when held to light, Huge bubbly white head sticks around forever. Smells of sweet fruit and malts, I pick up cherries and plums mostly. Slight alcohol in the nose, but not overbearing. Taste is sweet with malt, touch of alcohol and slight phenolic barely cut down the malt sweetness. Honey, dark fruits, a bit of funk, some alcohol and a bitter finish. Carbonation is naturally high, mouthfeel is sticky/syrupy, body is medium. There’s a lot going on here, I really enjoyed this one. If I had to fault it I would say it was a touch sweet, but that could be me sitting on this bottle to long. Great Brew!

Draft at Paradiso Dupont. Murky orange brown, no head or lacing to speak of. Aroma of sour orange peel and coriander, but no wheat. Taste is spiced orange with a hoppy finish. Delicious!

Sample at the Beer ’N Rock Band tasting on 08/27/2010: Acquired via trade. Pours a murky reddish-orange color with a medium thick and fluffy light tan head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, spices and fruit. Light and effervescent body with flavors of caramel, yeast, nutmeg and cherries. The finish is malty at first and leaves a yeast and sweet spice aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle Pours out a cloudy amber topped with a tall off white head. Aroma was nice hits you with a ton of spices and fruit. Taste was solid Brett, funk, spice, sweet fruits and a nice pepper end. A solid example of a saison. I always love stuff from Saint Somewhere now known as the other Florida brewery. At one time they were one of the only Florida ticks.

75 cL bottle, courtesy of Papsoe. Pours hazy dark orange to brown with a fizzy and white head. Aroma is dry and lacto with a mild acetone note. Initially sweet and subdued fruity, goes rather phenolic and dry towards acetone. Mild milky note to it in between. Dry phenolic and slight citric finish. Somewhat chemical. Quite carbonated.
