An amber ale brewed in the spirit of the abbey ales of Belgium. Lectio Divina gets its color from candi sugar, as it is made without dark or crystal malts. It is brewed with the same care and attention to the Art of Brewing that is practiced in the monastic breweries of Belgium.

Bottle from Degarth - Thanks! Pours a muddy orange and brown with a large beige head. Aroma is fruity and spicey, bits of dark fruit and toffee. Flavor is consistent with aroma with a bit more caramel malt, some raison, and light yeast. Some light floral bitters too. Nice.

Bottle shared by artusory. Hazy copper/fiery orange body, medium off-white to buff head. Light tart, fruity nose, again with the plastic, band-aid notes I picked up in the Saison Athene. Sweet, sugary body with a light earthy finish, tainted by plasticy phenols. The sweetness is rather flabby. I had a hard time getting past the phenols, and couldn’t enjoy this much.

Thanks to beerlando for this - hazy orange beer - the aroma is equal parts sweet and tart, with notes of orange marmalade and citrus pulp - semi-tart orange flavor, with just enough candi sugar sweetness to cut it - very pulpy and earthy, with a light, refreshing herbal character - very soft, yet lively at the same time - I’m impressed by this brewer so far.

Bottled shared buy notalush, I also have one in a trade from Beerlando. This brewer is really good and I cannot wait to keep drinking his stuff. It pours an orange-copper color, completely murky with no clarity. Aroma is dill (bastard Joe threw that in my head) or more like it’s smells are fresh herbs that are green yet rejuvenating. In general it s springtime on your nose with yeasty (dough sweetness) highlights. Taste is fresh and light sweetness of a Belgian Saison. Medium body but also very alive. It’s just so fun to drink. It’s awesome in its simplicity, nice spices with a strong saison.

Pours a hazy dull orange with thin white head. The aroma has a nice fruitiness with apples, grapes and pears followed by mild spiciness, yeast, candi sugar and a faint note of beat sugar. The flavor starts with an initial wave (tiny wave) of malt sweetness that quickly becomes over taken by red grapes, sweet red delicious apples, pears and beats. There’s also hints of candi sugar, spices and some faint yeastiness. Very nice.
