A. Le Coq Classic kvass is an honest, traditionally fermented kvass, which tastes exactly like kvass should taste. It has a pleasant bread flavour and is not too sweet. It has a nice head of foam and it is an excellent thirst quencher. This kvass has the true unspoilt taste of childhood – it’s a pure classic.

Brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of black bread, dark sugar and dried fruit. Sweet bready and fruity flavour, with some interesting spicy notes. A bit thin and sugary though

Bottle, 1 liter PET. A clear, brown drink with a little off-white head. Lots of rye bread, a good dash of dried fruits and some caramel on the nose. Sweet, fruity and bready flavor, quite tasteful actually. Thin on the palate. A quite pleasant kvass, sort of soda-like, but quite nice anyway. 110820

1l bottle. Poured dark brown with almost no head. Aroma is rye and sugar, quite awful really. Flavor is similar, rye and sugar. Maybe drinkable if very thirsty, but definitley not something I would buy again, I prefer the Finnish kotikalja over this anytime.

Plastic bottle 1000ml (BB 03/2011)
Dark ruby color, small brownish head. Aroma has strong soya sauce and rye. Light to medium bodied. Light soda pop like flavor. Sweetish, rye bread, soya sauce dominate. Claims to be "classic" but has too many other ingredients than just rye and barley. This is also a bit too low on alcohol, should have few procent to have a kick in it.

Thanks SaintMatty!
Brown color, small off-white head. Sticky berry-sweet nose with hints of ryebread. Molasses, very sweet, rye bready wort flavor. Quite close to traditional kvass.

Plastic bottle 1000ml, provided by Finn. Shared with Elsa, Finn and Leif at a rating session in Tromsø. Appealing deep, ruby-brown body. Small white head. Sweet wort to the nose. Wort and grain in flavour along with brown sugar. Refreshing as a decent soft drink (Tromsø, 27.10.2010).
