Bottle that we picked up from Belgium on recent trip, consumed at home Monday 23rd June 2025 sat out in the garden on a day of mixed weather, gorgeous sunshine but also thunder and lightning and showers. We've got Purple Sprouting Broccoli and Gorgonzola Gnocchi for tea tonight. Pours deep old blood red with a head that disappeared in a wink. There is a lot of sour cherry here, tart, sour, zappy, funky and dry at the end. I like this, great on a summer day.

8 December 2024. Bottle from Stacks. Bottled: 29/11/2021.
Clear to hazy deep red, thin, pink head. Intense aroma of lots of cherries, cherry pits, cherry juice, blackcurrant, wild red apple, almond, unripe raspberry, overripe nectarine, wet wood, cherry tomato. Taste has very sour cherry, cherry juice, nectarine stone and unripe apple in a sourdough-like malt body; slightly bitter cherry skin and herbal, tea-like notes blending well with the lactic acid. Astringent finish of stone fruit pit and cherries, woody tannins from the cherry pits, some savoury tomato & minerals, all in all very drying. Medium body, moussy texture, fizzy carbonation. More of an intense Kriek than a complex Lambic; just super enjoyable.

MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice acidity up front, lemony, lots of sour cherries, a little bitter, funky, bret, more of a sharp acidity, hint of vinegar. Aftertaste: still very fruity, nice sour cherries, some marzipan, a little bitter, some tannins, a little funky.
