A very easy drinking lightly coloured pale ale, crafted to commemorate the burning of a used Burton Union barrel. It delivers a sharp thirst quenching bitterness, perfectly complemented with a slightly lemony citrus aroma. The perfect beer to accompany an English Summer. Definitely not for Australians!

Cask at The Rock of Gibraltar, Enslow Bridge, Oxon 01-06-09 Pours mid amber with white head. Aroma is mostly fruit and malt. Taste is really quite decent for a Marston’s effort, nicely fruity with a good tangy bite and nice bitter finish. Not bad at all. A6 A4 F7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Massive malt and hop aroma as the bottled is opened. Pours an amber colour with small head. Flavour is quite dry and hoppy but the texture is thin so this beer works as a thirst quencher.

Cask at County Hotel JDW Ashford. Copper colour not a log of aroma, some creamyness in mouth some peppery hop finish. Slight sulphur and some caramel. Nothing wrong with it, it just needs a touch more flavour.
