Borefts XII Day 2. Opaque dark brown black beer, good tan head. Smooth palate, a mild dryness, good fine carbonation. Smooth semi dry dark chocolate malts, some dark chocolate liqueur booze. Nice sherry barrelling the gentle sweetness offsets the Islay whiskey nicely. Smooth semi dry finish. Nuanced and very drinkable.

On tap at Borefts. Pours black with short tan head. Aromas of soft woody whisky, sherry, cinnamon, chocolate nougat, and slick roasted malts. Flavors of same with a bit of coconut, sweet bourbon and sweet raisins. Beautiful balance. Excellent

Relatively dry for a Põhjala stout, which are usually very on the sweet side. Light peatyness, but countered by the soft woody oloroso and some sweetness from the cognac. Boozy, though, but in a friendly warming way. Nice.

23/IX/22 - on tap @ Borefts Day 1, BB: n/a (2022-1168) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!
Clear dark brown to black beer,
Aroma: oxidised, roasted, dried fruits, more oxidation, dry impression, spicy, a bit “dusty”. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, lots of caramel and vanilla up front, some dark chocolate, bitter, a bit malty, alcohol is noticeable, which is not a surprise at 13! Very nice and pleasant flavours! Aftertaste: sweet and sugary, more alcohol, more sugar, a bit sourish, more alcohol still, very boozy, chocolate and orange peel, a bit dry, despite the sugar you can taste, if that makes any sense... Very decent beer!

Cremiger, stark malziger Beginn. Weiche Röstnoten, vollmundig, viel Holz. Vollmundig, intensiv, der Alkohol ist gerade noch im angenehmen Rahmen. Langer cremig malziger Nachgeschmack. 12/13/11/13//13

Tap. Black color with beige head. Aroma is peat, but not too much, chocolate, roasted malts. Taste is a nicely balanced barrel Imperial Stout, but quite peaty in the back, iodine too. Fine-bubbled carbonation. A crazy one, but it kinda works.
