A Robust Dark Bitter. Simple and satisfying - the key components of a good best bitter. Maverick ticks both boxes, with fruity British hops on top of a robust malt backbone for a rich, dark ale to savour. Layers of warming, roasted malt, dried dark fruits and candied orange flavours, with a mellow, sweet finish.

Pours a semi-transparent deep orange/red, with an average sized creamy head that shows good enough retention and nice lacing. Reasonably intense aroma shows a caramel and lightly roasted malts base, red fruit notes and a grassy whiff. Taste follows the aroma closely: caramel and lightly roasted malts base, red fruit notes and a herbal/grassy underlying presence (a bit more distinct than in the aroma). Slightly sweet entrypoint with a balanced finish. Light bodied with low to medium, soft carbonation, resulting in a nicely smooth but not at all empty mouthfeel. Definitely an easy drinker as mandatory per style, well-balanced and interesting enough. A very well crafted bitter.

0,5l bottle from K-Supermarket Lasihytti, Espoo. Amber beer with good and stable, a bit cloudy head. Aroma has sweet caramel malts, some bread and dark fruits. Flavor has sweet caramel malts, wood, earth and somehow dry and bitter fruity ending. A bit watery.

Bottle. Dark amber color. Malt, raisin and pear drups in the aroma. Earthy hops, pear drups and butter cookies in the flavor. Thinnish but tasty.

Cask at craft beer co , clerkenwell, next to the street food market. , havibg ethiopean food and english beer. M7ld malty and sweetish aroma, faint, but leads me to think of barley wine. Flavor is malty , caramelly, a bit lava stone caramelly , not very herbal as i have found some bitters to be.

From cask at CASK Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 10.01.19. Clear, pale mahogany. Foamy beige head and lacing. Moderate aroma with dark crystal malt. Complex taste. Strongly maltdriven at frist, with dark crystal malt, dates, figs and prunes. Then hops takes over with lingering pine and juniper bitterness. Excellent!

Hand-pulled half-pint on 9th March 2018, in The Dog and Doublet, Wolverhampton. Mahogany body, off-white topping. Malty front, hops give aromas and a slight bitterness, but the semi-sweet maltiness rules the roost in this beer.
