Shrewsbury Hotel Spoons. Cask. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Very tangy dark malts, almost sour. Dark fruits. Traces of coffee and marmite. Light dry finish. Over tangy but passable.

Cask at George, Croydon. It pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The nose is earthy, roast, umami, dark fruit cherry and coffee. The taste is smooth, toasty, treacle, cocoa, coffee, cherry and earth with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Well rounded and rather nice cherry thing going on. Decent.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Deep cherry red, almost black, in colour with a ringe of beige head; drinking chocolate aroma; grainy body with a complex taste: - smooth chocoalte and coffee, but also blackcurrant and cherry; and a dry, satisfying finish with lingering fruit. An excellent mild.
